Obinna Nwafor (Saint Obi) is a Nigerian actor, producer, and director who was born on November 16, 1965. Obi grew up in Jos, Plateau State, as the only son of a family of nine children. He graduated from the University of Jos with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts in 1991.

Obi always wanted to be an actor after seeing foreign films as a child. In 1995, Saint Obi debuted in Nollywood, Nigeria’s film industry. After starring in the popular NTA commercial series in 1996, he became famous. Since then, he has appeared in over 250 Nollywood films, including Candle Light, Goodbye Tomorrow, Heart of Gold, Executive Crime, State of Emergency, War Front, and The President Must Not Die, among others.

In 2001, he produced “Take Me to Mama,” in which he co-starred with Ebi Sam as Jerry. The actor retired from acting a few years ago in order to concentrate on the production and business aspects of the entertainment industry, among other things. In an interview, he stated that he needed to work behind the scenes in order to improve things. He claimed he stopped acting because he needed to do other things, not because jobs dried up.”You realize as you get older that you don’t have to be in every movie. If you’ve been following my career, you’ll notice that I went from making ten films per year to six over time. I eventually cut back to one per year because I believe that what matters is how well you act, not how many times you appear in a film” According to the actor.

Obi is the Founder and CEO of Agwhyte International Limited, a Nigerian and United States-based production, talent and brand management, and public relations firm.

Obi and Lydia Saint Nwafor have a large family blessed with children.

In the Nollywood industry, Saint Obi has won several awards, some of them are:

• Best Actor in Africa at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards
• Most Prominent Actor in Nigeria at the City People Entertainment Awards
• Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Nollywood Movie Awards
