NOLLYWOOD ACTOR JOHN ADEGBOYEGA BIOGRAPHY
John Adedayo Bamidele Adegboyega, known as John Boyega (born on March 17, 1992) is a son to Nigeria immigrant parents; Abigail and Samson. He was born in Peckham, South London. His father was a Pentecostal minister who encouraged him to follow in his footsteps, while his mother worked with the disabled. He attended Oliver Goldsmith Primary School while growing up in a public housing estate.
At the age of five, he recognized his natural gift for acting and dedicated his entire life to developing it. Teresa Early, the director of Theatre Peckham, first noticed him when he was nine years old and acting in a school play. He joined Theatre Peckham and learned acting after school hours with other youngsters from South London between the ages of nine and fourteen, with some financial assistance from a hardship fund and the support of his parents. He was accepted into Westminster City School in the year 2003. He took involved in a number of plays while at school.
He went on to study for a National Diploma in Performing Arts at South Thames College’s Wandsworth campus. He established his name as the title character in the collegiate production of “Othello.” Later, he enrolled at the University of Greenwich for a BA in Film Studies and Media Writing, but dropped out to pursue his own acting career.
Boyega studied acting at Hackney’s Identity School of Acting and made six appearances at the National Theatre and Tricycle Theatre before being cast in the sci-fi comedy ‘Attack the Block’ in 2011. Moses is a tough urban teen who joins forces with his friends to fight an alien invasion. His acting career began with this.
Boyega claimed he is still single. Some of his nomination and awards are;
• In 2011, Boyega appeared on the cover of ‘Screen International’ magazine, as ‘UK Stars of Tomorrow’, chosen by Fionnuala Halligan.
• In 2011, Boyega was chosen by Fionnuala Halligan as one of the ‘UK Stars of Tomorrow’ on the cover of ‘Screen International’ magazine. For his role in ‘Attack the Block,’ he won the 2011 Black Reel Award for Best Actor.For his role in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens,’ he received the BAFTA Rising Star Award as well as the Empire Award for Best Male Newcomer.
