NIGERIAN MUSICIAN OLAWALE IBRAHIM ASHIMI BIOGRAPHY
Brymo is a Nigerian. He is a singer, songwriter, and author. Olawale Ibrahim Ashimi was born on May 9, 1986. While still in high school, he began recording songs in 1999. Olawale Ashimi was brought up in Okokomaiko, Ojo, Lagos State; his father is an Awori carpenter, and his mother is an Egun petty trader, and he is his parents’ only child. After enrolling in an Islamic school, Brymo learned to memorize the complete Qur’an. He first attended Aganju Aka Primary School before transferring to Japual Primary School. Brymo went to Lagos State University (LASU) for his tertiary education, where he studied biology, but he dropped out after his second year to pursue a career in music.
Brymo recorded his debut song, “Future,” while still in high school, and founded a music group called “The Aliens” in 2002, however the group failed to survive following a disagreement that caused them to split up. In 2007, he published his first studio album, “Brymstone,” to great acclaim, with over 2000 copies sold in less than two months.
Brymo was signed to the renowned rapper MI’s “Chocolate City” in 2010. He went on to release his second record, “The Son of a Kapenta,” under his new label after being referred by TV personality Denrele Edun, and was blessed with performances from his label mates MI, Jesse Jagz, Ice Prince, and others. Legendary Beatz, Wizkid’s former producer, produced his popular hit song “Ara,” which was one of the fantastic tracks off his second album.
He’s worked with some of the biggest names in the Nigerian and African music industries, including MI, Jesse Jagz, Pryme, and Ice Prince, who saw his assistance on their 200th hit, “Oleku,” which had a tremendous impact on the music career.
Waju is Brymo’s son. He is currently 7 years old, having been born on March 27, 2015. He is rumored to be dating Esse Kakadare, albeit they haven’t married yet.
