On the 28th of January, 1987, Adekunle Almoruf Kosoko was born into the Kosoko royal family of Lagos State, Nigeria. He is of Yoruba ancestry and was born in Lagos. Adekunle Gold is a nephew of Royal Jide Kosoko, a prominent Nollywood actor who is also a prince. Adekunle Gold was born in the Ifako-Agege district of Lagos State and spent part of his life there as well as in the Ikotun neighborhood of Lagos State. Adekunle Gold’s parents are both teachers, and their family is well-respected and humble, as evidenced by Adekunle Kosoko’s lifestyle. Adekunle Gold, like every other youngster in this region of the world, was taught to love, respect, and be modest to those around him in an African manner. He received his primary and secondary education in a Lagos public school before continuing his education at the university level. Adekunle Gold received his bachelor’s degree in Arts and Industrial Design from the Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH) (Higher National Diploma).

     Adekunle Gold is a very talented and attractive musician. His voice is distinctive and rich, and he is also very talented and crafty. He worked as a sculptor and a graphics designer before becoming famous, and things were OK as a freelance graphics designer, though he didn’t achieve what he truly desired. He has a passion for music, which led him to join his church choir for 11 years. He is inspired by King Sunny Ade and Evangelist Ebenezer Obey, and he has written his first song.

     Adekunle Gold acquired a freelance job and became the official designer for YBNL Nation, Olamide’s record company, where he designed the YBNL logo and other musical graphics. He began his musical career in 2010 and joined YBNL in 2015. In 2015, he released his first studio album, “Gold,” which was a commercial success and was well received by Nigerians.
Adekunle Gold’s contract with YBNL expired, and instead of renewing it, he started his own record label, “The 79th Element,” named after the atomic number of gold. His steady success prompted him to establish “The Afro Urban,” which he and other team members run. Simi, Lil Kesh, Omah Lay, Wizkid, Kiss Daniel, Olamide, and more Nigerian A-list artists have collaborated with Adekunle Gold.

     Adekunle Gold and his heartthrob Simisola Bolatito Ogunleye (Simi) married in January 2019.They had been dating for over 5 years before getting married. It’s fascinating to see two outstanding minds marry; the couple has a daughter named Adejare, and we wish them all the happiness in the world.
