Ikechukwu James Osomugha was born in Libreville, Gabon on September 25, 1976 (age 45). His parents, from Ogwugwu Village in Anambra State’s Enugu Agidi town, changed their surname from Okolue to Esomugha. In a family of eight kids, he is the only boy. From 1985 to 1991, he attended F. G. C. Kwali Secondary School in Abuja, after which he earned a diploma in banking and finance and a BSc in philosophy from the University of Jos in Plateau State.

Jim began acting in 2001, according to his website. He appears in the film Last Flight to Abuja as one of the leads. Along with Hakeem Kae-Kazim and Omotola Jalade Ekeinde. He is one of Nollywood’s highest-paid performers, having acted in over 150 films. In 2007, Iyke founded Untamed Productions, a film production firm. Untamed Records is his own record label. He released a debut album named “Who Am I?” in which he collaborated with some of Nigeria’s finest performers, including TuFace Idibia and Sound Sultan.
Jim Iyke Foundation for Children with Special Disabilities is his brainchild. In December 2012, he traveled to Kenya to promote the Make a Change Campaign, which was launched by Christopher Grey and Cécile, a Jamaican dancehall musician.

Jim Iyke is married to Dana Kinduryte, a young Lithuanian lawyer, and they have two children. Harvis Chidubem Iyke is their son.

The actor has received numerous accolades both at home and abroad.
At the 2008 Nigerian Entertainment Awards, he was named Best Actor. He has won Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards and Best Actor in an African Achievement Award (AMAA). In 2010, he won an Academy Award for his role as the leader of a secret cult confraternity on the university campus in the thriller film “The Cat.” At the Nigeria Entertainment Awards in 2010, he was named Best Actor of the Year and Sexiest Man in Nigeria. President Goodluck Jonathan bestowed the honor of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) on him in 2011.
