NIGERIAN ACTOR FRANCIS ODEGA BIOGRAPHY
Francis Odega was born in the Delta State of Nigeria on June 11, 1970. Odega graduated from Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma in Edo State, Nigeria, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics after finishing his high school education in Delta State. Odega is well known for his roles in comedies, in which he portrays amusing characters and uses American lingo. He was one of the founders of Opa Williams’ hit comedy show “Night of a Thousand Laughs.”
Francis Odega began his career as a stand-up comedian, performing alongside Okey Bakassi, I Go Dye, and Basketmouth. In 1996, he officially entered the Nigerian film, widely known as Nollywood, and starred opposite Charles Awurum and Sam Loco Efe in the film “Apama.” In Nigeria, the film made him famous and made him a household celebrity. At the Ghana Movies Awards in 2013, Odega was named Best Actor and Best African Collaboration.
He became well-known after a scene from the film “Back From South Africa” was shared on Instagram by celebrities such as 50 Cent and Tinie Tempah. The scene shows him speaking with a ridiculously American accent and using lingo such as gerrar here….yeah menh….shiit menh….fuck u menh.
Odega has endorsement relationships with the telecommunications major Etisalat (formerly 9-mobile). Millions of naira are thought to be involved in the trade.
Odega married Chibuzor Odega, a woman he met while working as a stand-up comedian. Beautiful children have been born into the union.
Francis Odega has received lot of honours and awards, including the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Comic Actor in Nigeria, At the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards he won Best Actor, Best Collaboration at the Ghana Movie Awards, Most Prominent Actor at the City People Entertainment Awards, Best Actor at the Ghana Movie Awards, and Best Outstanding Comedian in Nigeria at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
With a net worth of $1.5 million, Francis Odega is one of Nigeria’s wealthiest and most influential comic actors.
