Efa Iwara was born in Ibadan, Oyo State, on August 20, 1986, to a Professor of Linguistics father and a Librarian mother. He is from the Cross River State town of Ugep. He had his primary education at Staff School in Ibadan and his secondary school at the International School on Barth Road in Ibadan. He earned a bachelor’s degree in geography from the University of Ibadan.

Efa Iwara discovered his love for rap at a young age, writing his first rhyme at the age of nine. While in the University of Ibadan, he and three mates, including DJ Klem, established a group named X-Factor. The music group didn’t last long, and they all split up since they went in various paths. MI, Naeto C, and Tuface, according to Efa, are his entertainment business mentors. He claimed that veteran actor Pete Edochie is his mentor in the performing business. His debut album was published in 2011.

In the summer of 2010, he released a few singles and remixes to reintroduce himself to the Nigerian market. The album did not perform as well as he had hoped, and this may have prompted him to pursue acting. His singles included;

Efa Iwara stated that he gets into acting because he is bored. He began performing in a stage rendition of Ola Rotimi’s ‘The Gods Are Not To Blame’ when he was in primary school. Since beginning his acting career, the young actor has participated in a number of high-profile TV shows and films. He has also appeared on Tinsel, where he played a discussion moderator. For his role as David on MTV Shuga, he is also known as a serial woman delight.

Efa Iwara is not married and has never announced that he is engaged or married. In an interview, he did mention some characteristics that he looked for in a wife.
