BIOGRAPHY OF NOLLYWOOD ACTOR RAMSEY NUOAH
Ramsey Tokunbo Nouah Jr. was born on December 19, 1970, in Lagos, Nigeria, to an Israeli Jewish father and a Yoruba mother from Ondo State. He went to Atara Primary School and Community Grammar School in Surulere, Lagos, where he was raised. After graduating from the University of Lagos with a diploma in public communications, he pursued a career in acting.
Ramsey Nouah began acting in the early 1990s to help support himself while pursuing his General Certificate Education (GCE).
Nouah made his acting debut in the Nigerian television serial opera Fortunes. Since then, he has starred in a number of films, earning the nickname “Lover-Boy” for his many love roles.
In Nigeria, he is likewise regarded as one of the most in-demand performers. In 2015, he acquired the rights to Kenneth Nnebue’s film Living in Bondage: Breaking Free for a future remake in Europe, America, and Nigeria. The revelation was later confirmed on Instagram, although the movie seems to have been stuck in development hell for the past three years. Living in Bondage: Breaking Free, a sequel to his remake, was released on November 8, 2019. Original performers Okwonkwo, Udokwu, and Kanayo reprise their roles, with Nouah, who plays the new cult chief priest, making his directorial debut. Nnamdi, Andy’s son, is the protagonist of the story. The sequel also features rapper and MBGN winner Muna Abii. Living in Bondage: Breaking Free was nominated for seven Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards in 2020.
Emelia Philips-Nouah and Nouah are married. Quincy Nouah and Joshua Nouah are the couple’s two sons, while Desiree Nouah is their only daughter.
