BIOGRAPHY OF NOLLYWOOD ACTOR ODUNLADE ADEKOLA
Odunlade Adekola, a Nigerian actor, singer, filmmaker, producer, and director, was born on December 31, 1976. Odunlade Adekola was born in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, on December 31, 1976, to Pastor and Deaconess Adekola. Odunlade Adekola was born and raised in Abeokuta, Ogun state, but is a native of Otun Ekiti. His parents are devout Christians who also happen to be clergy, so he grew up knowing a lot about Christianity and being very involved in church activities.
His basic education was influenced by his family’s Christian faith; he went to St.John’s Primary School for elementary school and St. Peter’s College in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Odunlade received his tertiary education at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, where he received his National Diploma (ND), and then at Unilag, where he studied Business Administration, after graduating from secondary school and receiving his first school leaving certificate.
Odunlade started his career as a member of the Christ Apostolic Church in Lafenwa, Abeokuta. Odun began acting with his friend Tunde in church at a young age. His church congregation inspired him to pursue a career as an actor. His friend introduced him to a local theater group in 1996. Odun was invited, and his demonstration endeared him to the entire crew. He began learning some ethics and fundamentals of the film industry in the group, until some invited veterans asked him to join a theatre association .The Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners accepted him as a full member in January 1998.
Adekola eventually began producing films and acting in them. He made his acting debut in Bolaji Amusan’s Faworaja (1999). Following that, he became well-known after appearing in Asiri Gomina Wa as a state governor. Late Ishola Durojaiye was the film’s producer. Odunlade Adekola has appeared in more than 200 films and has received numerous endorsement deals, awards, and nominations.
Odunlade Adekola has four children with Ruth Abosede Adekola. Odunlade met his wife during a church service at a vigil in Abeokuta 22 years ago, and she was hesitant, even though she knew what she wanted. They agreed to be friends, and after a period of fasting and prayer, she received confirmation from within that he was the right person for her.
Along with Dija, O C Ukeje, Reedado Bankz, Mama-G, Bovi, A.Y, and Wizkid, he became one of the new Globacom ambassadors in 2015. In 2016, he, Flavour, Helen Paul, and Omawumi signed an endorsement deal with Conoil. Goldberg has Odun as an ambassador. He also joined Revolution Plus Property as an ambassador in 2018. In 2019, Ayoola Foods also endorsed him.
Odunlade Adekola Film Productions is his company’s CEO and founder. It’s a film school that offers professional training to aspiring actors and actresses.
